During a visit to the Normandy Flamanville nuclear power plant on March 11th, the three-time presidential candidate Marine Le Pen expressed support for using surplus electricity from nuclear reactors to "mine" Bitcoin. The plan involves installing high-performance computers on the premises of the French energy giant EDF. National Rally MP Aurélien Lopez-Liguori stated that he was tasked in July to draft this idea into a bill.
